Dear Families & Squirrels,
Welcome to Year 4! We hope you have had a brilliant summer and are feeling refreshed and ready for a great term together. We are really excited for the year ahead and know that we are going to have a wonderful time together. Year 4 is full of fantastic learning opportunities and I feel very lucky to be your teacher.
Our first term begins with answering the enquiry question ‘How do you build an Empire?’
Please keep an eye on Class Dojo as we cannot wait to show you all of the things we are doing in class. (*You should have already received your login for our Class Dojo page, but if you haven’t, please contact the school office).
We would just like to give you a little information that you might find useful over the next few weeks:
a test each Friday. They will be given spellings on a weekly basis. Please do practice the weekly spellings at home.
Meet the Teacher: This is the chance to meet your child’s class teacher, find out a little more about the year and ask any questions. This will take place on Tuesday 14th September, 3:00-3:15pm. Please go to the school office for 3:00 and you will be directed to the classroom.
School trip to Leicester Museum: Wednesday 3rd November is the day of our school trip to Leicester Museum. The day will consist of an Ancient Egyptian workshop and an opportunity to explore the museum’s artefacts. More information and permission slips will be sent home closer to the date.
Theme Day – This year’s Theme Day will take place on Friday 8th October. Your child is welcome to come dressed up to reflect the Ancient Egypt focus of the day, otherwise please send your children in school uniform. On this day, you will be invited into school to share part of the day – more details will be shared closer to the date.
Finally, we would like to say again how much we are looking forward to the first term.
