Holiday Dates/INSET
Below are the Local Authority school closure calendars. Each School will then determine their own INSET Days following agreement with their Local Authority or Trust.
Below is information on Horsendale's absence procedure, within our Attendance Guide which provides information on term time absence. Any term time absence (excluding illness and medical appointments), must be applied for using the Leave of Absence form directly with the Head Teacher.
Pupil attendance is audited regularly by the Head Teacher and the Governors/Trust and reported to the DfE/LA when they request it. During audit, the Head Teacher has to show why a child is absent from school during term time and what absence code she chosen for them and why. This is why school must have a form completed along with evidence of the absence (if able).
You can either use our online booking form or hard copy form, both are available below or by request from the school office.
In November 2020, an announcement was made by the government to confirm that there was a change to the 2022 late Spring Bank Holiday from Monday 30 May 2022 to Thursday 2 June 2022. In addition, a further bank holiday for Friday 3 June 2022 has been created to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
This additional Bank Holiday, as it has been placed in the school holidays, has been added onto the end of the school Summer term.
PLEASE NOTE THIS NOW MEANS, the last day of the school year is Wednesday 27th July. Children return to school Thursday 1st September 2022.
