Basketball – Years 3, 4, 5 & 6
We have a new Basketball after school club running next term and we would like to invite your child to join in.
Basketball is open to all children in KS2 and will take place every Tuesday, beginning Tuesday 25th February, starting at 3:20pm and finishing at 4:20pm.
This sport gives the children the chance to develop fundamental skills, covering elements such as passing, attacking and defending, understanding of game rules, positioning on court, umpiring education of netball and game based training/drills.
The training will be led by our qualified staff at Major Oak who currently support us and lead many PE sessions in school. This club is free. Basketball will be held both inside and outside on our courts depending on weather and activity, so please make sure your child has a sensible P.E. kit in school with warm clothing (joggers/tracksuits are suitable).
Children will need to be collected by an adult via the main entrance (office) at 4.20pm. Staff will not allow a child to leave the security of school without an adult, so please make sure there is someobe that can collect your child at 4.20pm if you wish your child to join.
To be considered for the club, children need to be well behaved in school. Any behaviour issues will be reported to me.
THERE WILL BE NO CLUB ON TUESDAY 24th MARCH DUE TO PARENTS’ EVENING.
We only have 20 spaces on this club, so it will be first come first serve on receipt of the completed form below. Please return the slip to the school office no later than Friday 14th February.
